My Approach
Hi, I’m Rhiannon.
I work with expecting and new parents, both individuals and couples, who are navigating the emotional, relational, and identity shifts that come with pregnancy and new parenthood. Many of the people I support are exploring what it means to become a parent, managing increased anxiety or depression, or noticing how this transition is impacting their relationship.
Our work together begins with creating a space that feels safe, supportive, and steady, even when the growth itself feels uncomfortable. We will explore what parenthood means to you and create space for you to shape this new chapter in a way that feels aligned, grounded, and true to who you are.
During pregnancy, we may focus on building your foundation and preparing for the transition to parenthood. This can include exploring your mental health, creating a care plan, identifying your support system, and developing communication and mindfulness practices that support both you and your relationship.
In the postpartum period, our work may include supporting you through changes in mood, anxiety, or trauma responses, reconnecting with your body and sense of self, and strengthening your relationship with your partner and your new baby.
I welcome all identities, family structures, and lived experiences, and I believe everyone deserves a place where they can show up honestly, gently, and without judgment during this tender season of life.
Together in therapy, we will:
Explore your evolving parent identity
Create space for emotional safety and support
Address anxiety, depression, and trauma responses
Strengthen communication and connection
Identify your support system and care plan
Support reconnection with your body, partner, and baby
Let’s work together to create space for you to show up for yourself and your family.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
During the free consultation call, we will spend up to 30 minutes talking about what you hope to get out of therapy and how I can support you and your relationship. This is the space that allows you to get to know myself as a therapist and allows me to get to know you to ensure we are a good fit for each other. If we both decide to move forward in working on your goals together, we will chat about any necessary paperwork and scheduling our first session!
-
I meet with individuals for a 50 minute session and couples for a 60 minute session. We can discuss how often sessions will occur during our consultation meeting to best fit your needs and support you with reaching your goals.
-
If you are late for the scheduled session, the session end time remains the same and we will meet for a shorter session. If I am late, I will extend the session time to ensure we meet for the full 50 or 60 minutes. If you need to cancel please do so with at least 24 hours notice. If you cancel within 24 hours or do not show for a scheduled session, you will be charged a late cancellation fee. I understand that life can be full of the unexpected, let’s just stay in contact.
