Hi, I’m Rhiannon!
I am an LMFT licensed in the state of California (#153386) and serving couples and individuals in Mill Valley and across California via telehealth.
I take an integrative approach that draws on both mindfulness practices and proven therapeutic techniques learned throughout my education and specialized training in Sex therapy and Perinatal mental health. During our work together, we will identify your goals and needs and integrate mindfulness and connection exercises with communication tools and traditional talk therapy to support your relationship’s growth and connection.
I enjoy an integrative approach in my work because I understand that there is no single treatment that works for everyone just as there is no single way to be in relationship or to be a parent. The integration of various therapeutic practices allows our work to be expansive and encourages learning about yourself, your partner, and your relationship as you transition into parenthood and beyond.
I came into this space as a person who believes in the power of connection for healing and growth. I also firmly believe that we are able to show up as our best self when we have a supportive village surrounding us. Historically, parenthood was experienced in the context of having a village, however over time the pressure on parents has gotten harder to navigate as intergenerational living has decreased and social media expectations and isolation have increased. It’s also not uncommon for partnerships to feel like they are starting to lose their connection or crack under this pressure, which is unfortunate because this is the time when we rely on our partners even more! Add on the impacts of childhood trauma sneaking back into the picture and an exciting time is also clouded by stress and disconnection. I aim to work with couples to support them in maintaining a strong foundation, or in building something new that matches the healing and growth needs that postpartum brings.
Overall, I work with couples and individuals to support people in experiencing healing and pleasure throughout the lifespan to allow you to experience an embodied connection to yourself and your parenthood journey.
I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and practiced as a trauma therapist for years prior to opening Solful Therapy. My experience in supporting the healing of complex trauma survivors inspires the use of holistic and mindfulness based skills I use in sessions today.
I received Advanced Perinatal Mental Health training from Postpartum Support International and Sex Therapy training and supervision from Sexual Health Alliance.
