What is Sex Therapy?
Sex therapy is a form of psychotherapy that can integrate various styles to increase sexual wellness, decrease sexual dysfunction or compulsive sexual behaviors by exploring thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and values that impact your sexual identity. Our sexual selves are a part of our overall identity and sexual trauma and dysfunction can lead to decreased connections with our selves and our partners. The goal of sex therapy is to serve as a tool to reconnect to the self and in relationship.
Sex therapy is not a space to just discuss sexual experiences and interests.
What is a Perinatal Therapist?
Perinatal therapists work with expecting and new parents throughout pregnancy and after childbirth to support individuals and couples transition into this new phase of life. They can support healing from birth trauma, postpartum depression & anxiety along with promoting reconnection within a relationship.
How long is a session? How often do we meet?
I meet with individuals for a 50 minute session and couples for a 60 minute session. We can discuss how often sessions will occur during our consultation meeting to best fit your needs and support you with reaching your goals.
What if I’m late, or need to cancel?
If you are late for the scheduled session, the session end time remains the same and we will meet for a shorter session. If I am late, I will extend the session time to ensure we meet for the full 50 or 60 minutes. If you need to cancel please do so with at least 24 hours notice. If you cancel within 24 hours or do not show for a scheduled session, you will be charged a late cancellation fee. I understand that life can be full of the unexpected, let’s just stay in contact.
Do you accept health insurance?
I do not accept insurance and am not on any insurance panels. If you are struggling to afford my full fee, let’s explore payment options that may be available to you including a sliding scale fee.
